ARCH 3 – Senior Architectural Coordinator

Job Title: Architectural Coordinator with Construction Administrative Responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time / Contract

Job Description: The Architectural Coordinator with Construction Administrative responsibilities plays a dual role in supporting architectural design and managing the administrative aspects of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of both architecture and construction processes, ensuring that projects are efficiently coordinated and executed according to design intent, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Coordination:

Design Support:

– Assist architects in the preparation of design documents, including drawings, specifications, and material selections.

– Coordinate with engineering consultants, interior designers, and other stakeholders to integrate various project elements.

Project Documentation:

– Prepare and maintain architectural drawings and documents throughout the project lifecycle.

– Ensure that all design changes are documented and communicated to the engineers and subs.

– Prepare and coordinate project deliveries for each ITR and design submission.

Quality Control:

– Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with architectural design and intent.

– Conduct on-site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any issues related to design discrepancies.

Construction Administrative Duties:

Document Management:

– Organize and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.

– Ensure all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible to project stakeholders.

Communication and Liaison:

– Serve as a liaison between the architectural team, construction team, clients, and regulatory bodies.

– Facilitate communication among all parties to ensure a smooth workflow and address any concerns or issues promptly.

Construction Knowledge:

– Utilize knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards to support project development and execution.

– Assist in resolving technical issues that arise during construction, ensuring that design intent is maintained.

Budget and Cost Management:

– Support the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, including reviewing contractor bids and negotiating contracts.

– Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and ensure that the project remains within budget.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in architecture and 5 to 10 years of related experience.

Skills:

– Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.

– Knowledge of construction documentation and regulatory requirements.

Additional Information:

– This role may require occasional travel to project sites.
