OEI had its founding 34 years ago in Dallas, providing water resources engineering services in the municipal, land development, industrial and private market sectors. Over the years, we have grown to include program management, project management, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, land title research, GIS mapping, and more. Added markets now include federal, healthcare, military, institutional, and real estate.

Primary Function: Project Coordinator. O’Brien Engineering, Inc. (OEI) has an immediate opening for a Project Coordinator with 1 – 3 years of experience. Work and responsibilities may include:

  • Varying project types: Federal, Municipal
  • Work closely with the OEI Project Manager, client and subs.
    • Understand, implement and track the project’s scope of work and schedule.
    • Prepare meeting presentations, run meeting presentations, take meeting minutes.
    • Manage tasks for the entire team in SmartSheet.
    • Book the teams traveling reservations
  • Research Federal Guidelines, Design Guides, similar projects, products/services, technology tutorials (self-teach), etc.
  • Quality Check (non-technical) majority or all of the submittals, put together all submittals and create a final package.
  • Data Management:
    • Record and track design decisions and received information/direction.
    • Create task management documents.
  • Travel: 90% of work is done in office or working from home, 10% will be traveling to meetings for a day or two at a time or to project sites for about 2 weeks at a time (this is for specific projects, not all projects require this)
  • Creating schedules and work plans, coordinating multiple teams at a time.
  • Gather, record and implement lessons learned on projects.
  • Create subcontracts from company templates.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Excel or SmartSheet: Familiar with using formulas, creating tables, and effectively storing and sorting data
  • PowerPoint
  • Word: creating reports, templates, forms, etc.
  • File Management

Qualities:

  • Attention to detail
  • Good work ethic
  • Patient with others in regards to teaching, helping or improving work flow.
  • Can call subconsultants and keep on task and on schedule.
  • Need to be tech savvy and good at self-teaching; pick up a new program with minimal outside help within a week.
  • Good conversationalist; carry conversations, creating good rapport with clients.
  • Quick decision making
  • Desire for the company/team to succeed.

Experience:

  • Experience with scheduling, coordinating between various clients and subs.
  • Preparing for and running meetings with 10+ people in person and via teleconference.
  • Research companies, obtain quotes.
  • Quality checking of others work
  • Data Management experience

Education:

  • High School Graduate
